Inspired by this article: Is There A New Car You'd Want to Put a Million Miles on? | Articles I, IMO, don't know which car I'd put 1.000.000 miles on. I will definitely think more about it and maybe reply back in this thread. What I do know is that if I could afford a new NSX back in 2005, its last production year, that's the car I'd happily drive around in - and also keep it forever.
Not that I can think of. Unless there's no time limit and I have the money to keep it in perfect shape. Then maybe a GT or a 575.
The car has to be new/on sale today I think that it's sad that I can't picture myself doing big milage in any new car... I like a lot of the new stuff, but I'm not truly wanting a long relationship with one... Maybe, just maybe, an Aston Martin Vanquish? But I like the 6 year old DBS more... Edit: BMW M3 CRT E90 would have been a contender, but I don't think it's in production any more.
I really like the look of the Toyota GT86. It's the only new car that's really caught my attention at the moment. It looks great in red or blue. I liked the previous generation of Porsche Cayman, but I don't think that qualifies as a new car any more. You might find the odd "new" examples of it from dealers, but it's no longer in production. All the best, Andrew.
We're discussing which car you would drive for a million miles, not which car you would buy for $1 million. All the best, Andrew.
Guys, guys: The car has to be on sale today. Meaning, no 2-3 year old car allowed Totally forgot about GT3s, but I don't want a PDK GT3 (I rather have a DCT Ferrari instead...)
It's hard to argue with that. A million miles might mean 50-80k/ year. That's a lot of sore butt seat time in a sport car.
I would want a comfortable GT car with lots of room and a great interior, also safe yet sporty. Something like a Panamera Turbo S.
Actually that new E63 4-Matic looks brilliant. I hope they go all out and make a Black Series model too!
I get bored too easily. Nothing on the market that could keep my attention for that long. Now if it is which car would you want to put 50,000 miles on in one year? I could play that game. But I am not going to hijack your thread.
is there a new car that anyone really thinks will go a million miles? Ford F250 with a diesel, maybe...
Gotta be comfortable for me to drive 1,000 miles a week to hit that figure in 19 years. An S600 or 760Li would be pretty comfortable for that, but I think an M5 would be enough considering how many luxury items they put in the "sports" sedans nowadays. No sports car for that amount of miles.
