If there is I haven't found it yet, and I haven't had time to crack through the manual either.

I'm not with my car, but I think there is a choice in the instrument computer to display EITHER outside temperature OR speed

I didn't know that. Mine displays speed. Despite its small size, I find myself looking at the small digital display more than the big round analog speedometer if I'm worried about going too fast through a speed trap.

I do as well. However, the display shows both outside temp at the top and speed at the bottom. 2010. But I did not configure it as it came that way...

You almost need a magnifying glass to see the digital speed (lower right), but it should be there. Heard new cars have the option to make it a lot larger. The steering wheel blocks half the freaking gauges, plus the speedo is pretty much illegible anyway (who the heck designed the gauges? Geez). So that larger digital speedo is a must IMO. But maybe I'm just remembering the 458. Somebody with a new Cali ('13) can answer that.

The outside temperature and digital speedo show all the time on my Cali.

I don't think I have ever looked at the normal speedo as the digital one is so much easier to see....but as Phil said better not to look at it most of the time ;-)
