meh, they'd of sold out of them regardless just based on limited numbers and the engine etc let's not forget that the 't' range is marketed and actually sells as a hardcore lightweight car when the cayman t is literally 5 grams (the fabric door handles) lighter than a standard car.
I wouldn't say overproduced since I'm happy that more people who want the car will get it. But it's definitely not a rare car. Generally they produce about 4500 of each variant. The 991 generation had 5 GT variants so that's about 22K units. Add in the GT4, 911 R, and Speedster units and you're right, not a rare car at all. I think the rarest non-limited variant of the 911 is actually the Targa model haha.
Very easy to get any GT Porsche these days (that's 2RS and 3RS). In fact in my geo for the first time Porsche are chasing me (on the 718 GT4) as sales are not there and there is no interest to trade up from the 981 GT4.
Agree on the Targa, especially the 991.1 GTS version. I bought such a car as a daily driver when it came out, by now it has 90k km. Was replaced by the 991.2 already in something like 6 months... what surprised me is that values keep up close to mrsp, in Europe for these types. Thats only possible for such a car if it is rare, i was expecting much more depreciation ;-)
An extra 30hp with and extra 80kg's of weight - yup that one. Anyway will see it F2F in Sept so will reserve my final judgement until then but on paper I would not change over.
I have been reading all the threads and somehow it it stops in year 2019. I came across yours and do much agree. Yes, here is a "virtual" hug my friend
Any updates on Monza pricing? Were earlier predictions correct, have they fallen under the ~$2MM USD MSRP?
Very curious note about the working of the website: I saw this thread highlighted in the page that shows all the forums, but when I go the Icona forum, this is not shown... Incidentally, my understanding is exactly the same as George's.
not exactly sure what you're referring too. I see this thread in Icona forum. This is a new category, so all Icona threads were moved here from other forums and we left a redirect.
When I went to the Icona forum, this thread did not appear. Yet, it did show on the main forum list page: This showed it https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ This did (and still does) not https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/forums/icona-series-sp1-sp2-sp3.357/
Back to the thread, has anyone heard about Monza sales now that the 18 month sales ban has expired? I know of none mostly because the original purchasers don’t want to lose their option on the Daytona SP3 or future Icona models.
I bought an SP2 Monza 15 months ago in the US. There were two others for sale in the US at that time. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
