    It is certainly pretty, but to say its the most beautiful car in the world you would have to say the Jaguar E-Type isn't, nor is the 250 GTO or SWB... I don't think you can do that.

    Agree. Although I’m in the minority who would put the Elite ahead of the E-Type.

    250 GT SWB will likely never be topped. And there other ‘60s Ferraris that come close.

    I prefer the Elan Coupe over the Elite by miles, although the +2 leaves me cold.

    I believe at one point, it was considered the prettiest car in the world. I base my comment on perusing a multitude of Road & Tracks that are more than a decade older than yours truly.
    The Elite did have its fair share of admirers and quite possibly in the late 50s/early 60s, it was the perceived pinnacle. Not difficult to imagine in the the era of Edsel.

    Reminds me of John Fogerty once saying CCR was the best band in the world “for THIS amount of time”.
