Ferrari seem to be keeping mum about it, which makes me think it's NOT Trail Rated.

Jon- Depends on whether you buy the F&R lift kits (for real) and what kind of tires you install.

In another thread, I suggested a "Rocky Mountain" edition which includes:

    1. low range transfer case
    2. 18 inch lift kit
    3. camouflage paint
    4. brush guard on front
    5. spare fuel can on back with giant embossed prancing horse
    6. 22 inch wheels with giant "mudder" tires
    7. gun rack
    8. special edition Beretta or Perazzi guns
    9. running boards
    10. winch on front

    Did I forget anything?

It would be hard to have a transfer case when it doesn't have a center or front differential.

If it is all wheel drive, it must have a front differential. All that needs to be done is install a 2 speed transfer case between the tranny and the two drive shafts.

It is a 4WD system but there is no front differential and only one driveshaft, there is a set of wet clutches that take power directly from the crank. There is thread explaining it and videos around in here as well. It's pretty awesome stuff.

edit: here is a video of the system

Fascinating stuff but I'm sure there is a way (perhaps for an extra 50K) to get a 2 speed transfer in the driveline somewhere.

Dave- Not unless your want the front and rear wheels running at different speeds. No front drive to rear drive shaft, just the normal torque tube.

Of course, Maserati is getting ready to field an SUV rumored to have some Jeep underpinnings, so who really knows since Fiat owns both?

1st is already virtually a granny gear in most late Ferraris.

I'm sure for 50K, they could replace it all with a Jeep underpinning. I know the vast majority of AWDs and 4WDs never go off road but if I can't crawl rocks in it, I ain't interested!

There is an option to be able to raise the car I think about 1.6" under 20mph to get through deeper snow i believe.
