Biggest lot of ******** I’ve ever heard. Funny elton had a good cry when Rosberg beat him to a title, and he was so terrified of Rosberg that he had to get toto and Niki to order Rosberg to back off and play second fiddle to him for the first two seasons of dominance..... yeah, he’s a real great man elton...... NOT EVEN

 

I did have a Hero...he was called Gilles Villeneuve, and to many of his peers , journalists and team bosses he was the fastest and the greatest driver that ever lived, and if anyone disputes this, no ones does that he was the bravest driver ever to sat his ass on an f.1.
Gilles was greatness as a racing driver, in and out of the car, he is still loved by fans all over the earth, and still brigs tears to the eyes of those who worked with him everytime they mention his name...Gilles was a hero, and he become a legend...there are some that come close, that are also legends in their own right....Elton isn't one of them, not even close....

 

Watch Fangio on the Nordschleife or the movie "race to immortality" and maybe you get an idea what racing meant back then and what it is now... Watch Senna in Monaco and watch the steering wheel and the amount of shifts per lap and then watch nowadays inboards. G's are not everything...

The physical challenge of driving in F1 has probably been on the wane for 30 years - with the qualifying tyres and qualifying engines of the mid-80s turbo era being the benchmark. Classic F1 hard-man Derek Warwick, now an F1 Steward, argues the physical effort required is the main difference between the power-steering-assisted cars of today and the brutal turbo monsters of the 1980s.

“The cars I drove were more physical. You got put into this missile that had 1,350hp that you just could not change gear quick enough. I was always one of the stronger guys out there - but I thought they were tough cars to drive.
