Is Chevrolet having a rollout, soiree, preview of midengine C8 at Monterey?

    The prevview is July 18th in Newport Beach. Monterey Car week is second week of August. I would have thought the unveiling would have more impact if it were unveiled say at the racetrack Saturday or Pebble Beach sunday. But maybe they are planning to loan them to selected journalists to drive up there. (as I saw being done previously in the Cadillac XLR preview) Question is--if they let them have the cars a whole month in advance of Monterey, how many will be left intact 30 days later?
    Money wise, the folks who go to Monterey Car Week are their prospects, not the people who couldn;t afford to go to Monterey...
