@jgonzalesm6 mentioned it in another thread how the Full Wet tires are pretty much useless in F1. For the longest time we have seen teams choosing the intermediates that run in a drying track all the way into extremely wet puddle filled surfaces. The full wet rarely gets used. The intermediate tire overheats extremely quickly on a dry surface. If full wets are required, then race officials usually throw the red flag anyways. Does anyone else think Pirelli needs to make some changes?

Intermediate tire with maybe a slightly harder compound, and/or reduced tread depth. Or maybe even a different tread pattern with larger rubber blocks. Better in drier conditions, worse in hard rain like we saw today.

Then the full wets would also be slightly harder, but softer than current intermediates, and once again a slight redesign to be used extreme wet conditions.

If it monsoons, then it will be a red flag anyways.

Teams have "free practiced" Pirelli's full wets(blue banded) tires on wet tracks for years already and these full wets are not the tire of choice by the drivers when the track is very wet. The intermediates are the tire of choice and can go on for over 50+ plus laps (inter-slicks) when the track is wet but has a dry line that starts to form.

I don't know why these full wets literally suck after years of testing but it's obvious Pirelli has dropped the ball yet again regarding these tires.

I honestly don't think Bridgestone, when they enter F1, are going to "sweep Pirelli" off the grid right away. Bridgestone will take time to adhere their tires to the F1 cars in a couple of years time.

When you are in the situation of needing full wets and race control is apt to throw the red flag--there is no rational to use the full wets.

So, Pirelli needs to make a full wet that is better in light rain to full rain but no red flag situations--and let go of the full wet with red flag situations.
