I’m a believer in having high-quality materials in locations that you use and touch every day. I’m thinking of upgrading my center consul to carbon fiber. Has anybody purchased products from Exotic Car Gear?

Consider the LaFerrari bridge? I installed that when I had a 458. Pretty cool looking.

I’ve purchased from ECG and they are a first rate organization. They offer a comprehensive line of quality products which they fully stand behind.

Ditto on what Viperjoe said. I’ve purchased a lot of carbon fiber from Exotic Car Gear for the Aventador I used to own. Another option is MyRicambi. Purchased the complete set of interior carbon fiber as well as engine bay carbon fiber for my old 458.

Here’s a link to my old post about the install (with photos)

Hi, is it direct fit? Need to alter anything? Do you still have photos? I'm very interested in doing the same. Thanks

Personally, I've not found any aftermarket CF makers, other than Capristo, that have the look of Ferrari OEM CF. I can spot the fake stuff a mile away. If you want CF that is OEM and cheaper than official Ferrari parts, you can look at websites that sell used Ferrari parts from totaled cars.

All the carbon from MyRicambi is spot on— I dare anyone to be able to tell the difference from OEM. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I bought mine from my dealer 5 years ago. It was around $5k installed. It's in the Ferrari Genuine book.

For whatever reason, I can't see 05430f1's post, so responding to yours. The difference between OEM and his attachment, as far as I can tell from the attachment, is that the CF is too dark and clear coat/lacquer is too thick and the Chinese origin is apparent in my opinion.

They are fabricated in France but I guess there's probably Chinese people in France too.

and if you can't see my post, how do you have that description of them?... anyway, no worries. They look great and are identical to the factory ones on a Pista that was just here.

No idea why I couldn't see your previous post. Must be a gremlin in the software somewhere. I've made the mistake of buying aftermarket CF. I think it all sucks pretty much, except Capristo which has a very svelte weave and not over lacquered.

Late to the game but I wanted to add my 2 cents to this post.

I have added many carbon pieces to my 458 spider and most everything was ordered from ECG. In doing so, I have developed a friendship with David the owner and have never had any questions on how the products would fit or look like. They have a huge collection of parts for the 458, some of which the other suppliers can't even get. Customer service is first rate and response times have been quick. They have even been available for a chat when I had installation question.
I can highly recommend this company to anyone looking to purchase carbon fiber parts.

    Regards,
    GG

Replaced center tunnel with carbon fiber from Exotic CarGear. The carbon fiber is spot on with the OEM. However, the hardware to install this project was kind of a pain in the butt. If you do it, have lots of extra screws around because you may have to find stuff to work out as you go.

of course, the plastic window switches and switch gears are so brittle and crispy, I broke a couple taking off and putting on. So I have to order a few more parts now.
