I've always thought just about any plug in performance enhancement has to be hogwash. Still do. But I kept seeing ads for this little guy

and thought, "I'll google it". I did. Reviews basically indicated it doesn't boost HP, but improves throttle response significantly. Ordered it through Amazon, just in case it turned out to be crap. Amazon will take ANYTHING back and issue a full refund.

    It wasn't crap after all.

Easy install, maybe 15 minutes. After ignoring the instruction sheet that was less than helpful, I found a good video on youtube specific to my car, and followed those instructions.

Well? Bottom line? For under $300, the throttle response is noticeably improved, makes the car more fun to drive and doesn't seem to do much to spoil gas mileage, if that's a concern.(It's not for me, but probably for some.)

They make these for almost any car that is throttle by wire.

Put a little extra life back in the CLK.

Does this gizmo require a butt-dynamometer to gauge performance?:D:eek:

I think it only requires a butt emissionometer

It requires sensitive cheeks. I have not applied science to this matter, only seat of the pants testing.

If you'd like to see if it has any real effect, I'll do some early AM 0-60 testing in the neighborhood, that should make me even MORE popular. :D

    2009.

1 owner car I bought when I got down here in FL. It had 40K miles on it, paid $13K for it almost 5 years ago.

It has been a great deal other than they seem to eat rear tires.

I have one in my S600. I found I rarely use it, doesn't really suit the car.

I still have a 2006 CLK 350 in Silver, only owner, just turned 40,000 . About to wear the thing out. But it is still a smooth riding car. Have a 2004 Denali XL and just turned 20,000. You can tell I love driving the Denali.
Got a 2018 AMG 43, about to sell it, I just does not feel like a Mercedes. We have had about 29 Mercedes the past few decades. This is most disappointing. I love the V8 2017 CLS550 with Red Designo leather.

I installed one on my V10 R8. Definitely improved throttle response and increased the enjoyment factor.
