Hey Brett, Why couldn't it be registered in CA? While it undoubtedly is tough to do so, I have seen many 400is with the CA BAR certificate and fully registered.
i really don't know all the details man... but in spite of a Michigan Title and and some really important looking door jam plaques, something still wasn't official enough for California...not even official enough to go to smog. ****in' bull****
Silver looks more discreet than red, so I would prefer that color, yes. I would love a dark blue one. About series 1 or 2, I'm not sure yet, but I think I would prefer a series 2. You were pointing the color of the dash for the red californian 400. Do you mean that's not original? Because that's what I'm thinking. The original color of the car may not be red, as somebody already supposed beofre in this thread. Basically I'm searching for a super clean car, everywhere including underneath, not just a driver (driver usually mean "bad shape" for me). Some nice new parts don't make a car new again, it sometimes just show that everything else around would need attention too ;-) Is your 400 an Euro-specs? What's the mileage? How old are the TRXs? What's the price? Can you send me more pictures? Thanks.
i think the brown dash is original and don't get me wrong, i love red on these cars... i'm just not crazy about a brown dash on a red car...you see alot of TR's like that. the Silver car is very clean...and much, much more than just some shiny parts on a beater. if i recall, the TRX's were 6 years old, but they were nice and soft... mold flashings and all. but like i said, i have Factory 15's that could possibly be part of the deal. i'll see what we're looking at for price... the black Series 1 one could also be cosmetically outstanding...i'll just put a more $ into it. i seriously doubt there is anything available that could compare mechanically... and for $42 500 CAN, i'll redo the front seat leather, the carpets and it will go to my painter/detailer to make the finish on the body panels outstanding. i can't imagine that you could find better value then is being offered on either of these 2... neither needs anything whatsoever...actually the silver needs AC work...blacky doesn't. give me a call me to discuss further. brett, 705-435-1990 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
it's actually a very interesting story...but i'll post some pics first...tell me what you see... by the way, it belongs to a friend...who also happens to be my painter. it came in for a major/carb rebuild and all suspension bushings, but it needed a bit more. we found a wiped out cam, he needs ignition wires and a distributor cap. we went through the gearbox and are replacing his driveshaft bearing. we had his headers coated and we're replacing the rest of the exhaust. we're installing a gear reduction starter. a couple before and during shots...and yes, the Fram filters are going... what wise man once said, "...friends don't let friends put Fram filters on their Ferrari's..." ? wasn't it Enzo ? Brett, you must have the market cornered on 365s...! If it hasn't made its way to your shop, it simply doesn't exist. How about some pics with the top off--or whatever that roof panel is?
ya, sure...but what am i gonna do when all the 365's are finished ? i'll post some pics in a bit of the roof off...but that's not the only thing...
Brett, I didn't notice the targa roof! That must be a first on a 365/400/412? The only other thing I noticed were the clear lenses on the indicators, but there must be something else! Aidan
Nice looking combo on the blue car. Not as nice as darker blue IMO but very nice nontheless. Were the mirrors updated on the black car?
Brett, All right, I'll bite, who did the targa conversion? Is this one of the Fly Studios cars? Regards, Art S. PS. The clear lenses are from a 412. PPS. Why is the car sitting so high?
Brett, there is no such thing as finished. At best, there is simply "done for now." Other than the lenses, as mentioned by Aidan, nothing else jumped out at me. We patiently await your unveiling....
yes, i was referring to something else, but you're right about the lenses... i really like the clear lense look. no, those are the OEM Vitolini's (Turbo's ?). i don't know who did the conversion Art...i don't think the owner does either. and there is no diff, cv shafts, driveshaft or tranny in the car... that's right G...it's a process, not an event. well, besides the interior, which wasn't really what i was referring to, but is superb... it's the rear wheel arches...which, i admit, weren't featured prominently in pic 1... but still...either you guys are slipping or you just don't give a **** anymore ! we're almost done now...diff, cv's and gearbox are in... starter, headers, carbs, air filters/boxes and dizzy's still to go. That is an understatement! The suspense was killing me, so thanks for letting us in on the secret. Aidan
