Allstate quoted me $3k for the F430, I was happy. They just had to get it approved, as it was over their "rider limit" or something. They just called back and said they don't do anything over $125k.

Am I defective or is this true?

    Where to go next?

State farm. Pay less for my porsche than my f150. They quoted me something equally low for the f430.

Only catch is big price tag cars want big minimum deductibles ($5k?)

Does this also work for British Columbia due to the big bad ICBC?

instead of calling and getting a quote from each insurer..
if you can get in touch with a broker who can scan all the insurers for best rates, terms etc.. is best.

3k to insure a 430.. seems crazy high..?

    I have a 355.. fine worth less then a 430.. but I pay 1/3 of that..
with agreed/fixed value, in case of total loss..

this is in Quebec.. don't know the rules elsewhere..

Make sure your insurance provider will accept an agreed value that it doesn't depreciate. My regular insurance provider wouldn't do an Endorsement 19 on my 1984 308 at all. I changed the Ferrari (and a modified/customized car) to Hagerty www.hagerty.ca , have a declared agreed value on both. The only restriction on Hagerty is they won't cover daily commuting use, only pleasure usage.
