Hello All, I have a small collection of cars including 4 Ferraris. I currently have hagerty for insurance because of the agreed value. It is just getting out of control price wise for cars that probably only get 500 miles or less put on them annually. Can anybody recommend another company. I need to shop this around a little bit.

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks
    Greg

It may not be helpful for the state you live in but there are a handful that allow you to suspend a policy with no penalty.

I'm in Colorado where it's a law allowing up to a 6 month consecutive suspension that you can reinstate with no penalty. Insurance companies don't recommend it because of a) loss of revenue and b) some owners might forget to reinstate it before driving.

Knowing you can turn it on or off based on your state could be helpful if you're willing to manage that. I haven't taken advantage of this because I only recently became aware of it adding another car onto my policy and it's winter here currently.

Dunno if it would apply to you but USAA quoted me $1100 for an F430. 5k miles.

I have only cross-shopped a few times over the years, but JC Taylor has always been much more reasonable than Hagerty.

I like Hagerty as a company and they have done a lot to support our hobby, but they are expensive.

With all the disasters, insurance will only go up.

As body shops/parts continue to go up, Insurance will only go up to match.
I don't know any poor or broke body shop owners, all the guys I know are loaded ($$$)

Find a great deal on insurance?
Wait a year, it will be just as high as any others, maybe even after only 6 months.
Just wait for them all to update their experience level tables and submit rate
increases to the State insurance commissioners.

Call everyone, the cost of coverages may be the same, or close, but the actual coverage -
things they cover vs. not cover may be different.

Indeed. Many of my friends are struggling with home insurance issues—and not just in California. It’s deeply unsettling, especially considering this is the primary asset for most people.

'The cost to repair/replace things is out of control'

That flows down to insurance costs.

I switched from Hageryy to NCM a few which had gotten really expensive for my Ferrari, and also got my wife's Lexus SC430 insured as a classic which saved me $1,100 a year over insuring it with Geico.

But doesn't that also restrict your use of the Lexus, making it hardly a apples-to-apples comparison?

Yes 3,000 mi a year but that's the way it's being used anyway. It's my wife's toy car. She seldom drives it!
