All - need your expertise to help diagnose an issue with instrument panel not functioning. Went to start the car today and upon turning key, the instrument panel did not light up or function at all. Nothing turned on, the entire instrument panel was dead...no warning lights, systems check OK lights, tach/rpm, or gauges.
However, the car started normally, headlights, taillights, turn signals, interior lights, throttle response, work just fine. My guess is a bad fuse/relay? After letting the car warm up for a bit, I did re-start the car thinking might be just a glitch, but again, instrument panel still not functioning.
Note, doubt this would make a difference, but car has sat for a week in the garage and weather has turned cold, dipping into 33-36 degrees at night (yes, that's cold for us in Cali). Possibly cause an issue with electronics?
Appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thanks and kind regards.

The panel gets live battery power from fuse AF9 in the frunk and ignition power from fuse AF15 also in the frunk.

I'm surprised the car functioned normally though. The instrument panel provides things like vehicle speed to all the car's ECUs.... but then these ECUs might be trying to put on warning lights to tell you this (and these lights aren't working). The instrument panel enables the windscreen wipers (do these work?)

I'm not certain it's a power issue, but check the fuses anyway.

Qavion, thanks for your reply...wipers do NOT work. FYI, windows working fine. Note, have not tried to drive the car, only started on/off a few times. Afraid to drive with instrument panel no working.

Just noticed that the Interior Light Timer Module receives ignition power from fuse AF15. I'm not sure what effect it would have on the interior lights if the fuse was blown. Your interior lights work, but is the delay still working? If the delay is working, the fuse may be ok and fuse AF9 may be the culprit.

For reference, those fuses are 5 amps. If only one fuse was blown and you had no spares, I suppose you could use frunk fuses AF20 (Position lights front LH and rear RH) or AF16 (Position lights front RH and LH rear) on a "get you home" basis. There doesn't seem to be any more 5A fuses on the car other than the ones which power the immobiliser system.

Problem solved! Thanks for your help. Purchased $5.00 worth of 5amp fuses, changed both the AF9/15...turned the key and instrument panel lit up like my Christmas tree. Whew! Big sigh of relief.

    Did both blow?

Certainly cheaper than a panel repair, but as Greg says, why did one of more fuses blow? If you can narrow it down to one fuse, we can look at things other than the panel which might have caused the fuse to blow.

I was waiting for your reply, Ian

    Good points

Strange that a panel fuse would pop.

NorCalGuy, does your car have an accessory stereo system (amp) etc?

No mods, stereo is stock. I'm taking into my Indy repair shop on Monday for its annual oil change, will have them give it the once-over.
Again, truly appreciate your assistance. Hope you and your family have great Christmas Holiday.

They are a very decent shop. Roberto did the PPI on my F430 earlier this year.

Yes, Roberto has done quite a bit of work on my 07 F430 over the years (fluid changes, new clutch, valve cover gaskets, etc.). His shop always full of great eye-candy, too.
