I was lucky enough to get a tour of the collection at DAD Garage in 2012. It was beyond amazing. Real bummer that no photos were allowed, but I can still picture all the cars in my aging brain.

He must be getting up there in age now. Is the family going to maintain the collection? It is absoulty stunning.

I’ve wondered about that, too. Would be a shame to see the collection auctioned off in pieces. Maybe the estate will create an endowment and turn the DAD garage into a museum where everyone can visit and see the amazing cars all of which are…well…perfect. That collection is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Would hate to see it broken up. And all of the cars are kept in perfect driving condition. If sold off, some of the cars would possibly go into private collections never to be seen again in our lifetime. That would be a real pity.

And I didn’t win the damn PowerBall lottery the other day, so I won’t be bidding if they auction off the cars. That’s the REAL pity!

I hate to admit that I've helped subsidize his collection quite a bit over the years. I bought my first Polo in 1982 and still buy them today. I've just always liked how they fit and the styling.
