    Several years ago I found a pocketwatch with a repeater. It was only a few hundred dollars on eBay. I would love to get a minute repeater watch now.

    This might be impossible, but is there such a thing as an inexpensive minute repeater, preferably from the sapphire crystal era?

    Pocket watch or wrist watch.

    The "cheapest" new true mechanical I know of is a Quater Repeater from Nivrel for about $8k.

    Old repeater pocket watches will be much less expensive but may require very costly service (if they can even be fixed).
