It was not a bad race but a bit boring yes. I just purchased my ticket to the Honda Indy coming up this weekend and am looking forward to it. Love the road course atmosphere so I will be in Toronto all Friday for the festivities and Sunday as well.

Respectfully disagree. The cost can go down but it takes a different approach to racing. Something the current teams would not accept.

Stumbled across Driven on TV... Watching it as prep for today's round 1 at Toronto. Ironically Stallone's character makes his first track appearance at Toronto.

Mid-Ohio Friday practice. On my way back now. Raining. May clear by qualifying. May not.

Great shot! I grew up in Columbus and went to watch many races there. Then I grew up and raced there myself on a few occassions in karts and cars.

LOVE the place. Have fun! My brother is coming up for the race from Cincy on Sunday.

    Great photo.

Sweet...my brother is there with his best friend and they are sitting on the hill right before they head into thunder valley.

That hill after the back straight is a winger in a race car!

Can't wait for this one to get underway!

I've enjoyed the no caution, fuel/tire strategy part of the race.

not the best show, but a good race.

I wonder if the bore and only about tires F1 that we are currently suffering through will increase Indys following at all?

Indy Car would have to string a dozen races like Mid-Ohio together, get cars that are far
more interesting to look at and more rising talents like Charlie Kimball before it starts
    to get a look-in at F1's numbers.

The potential is there for Indy Car but their problems are self inflicted and the
mentality to run an entire series the same way they run things at IMS dosen't work.

I hear the car and how it looks argument often but I don't understand it. F1 cars are just as generic now this can't be a deciding factor for people.

I can't speak for everyone, only me. However, the issue with the cars isn't that they are generic - it's that they are ugly. They don't "flow" for me.

If you look back at 90's era CART - the differences between a Reynard and a Lola chassis were small. You could see them, but close enough that the layman would likely not notice. That being said, the cars were downright beautiful. They looked fast, they were fast, everything worked.

Again, subjective and my opinion only, but something that I'm passionate about. I agree that the modern F1 cars leave a lot to be desired, especially during the grooved tire era. They are looking better, however.

I could live with a "sort of" spec series a la Grand Am. I do wish the cars were more aesthetically appealing.

I agree, the new cars are fugly.

as our ol' pal Wet Blanket Panzer will say, spec racing is here and it's here to say.

that doesn't mean the spec has to look bad.

I agree on TV they don't look that good, but they look MUCH better in person. Kind of like the 348. :D:D:D
