Race has been moved up to 3:00 eastern time. Looks like we may see a wet race and Rossi is starting 8th with a bunch of vets up front. Hopefully a good race coming.
Does anyone actually believe that Leigh Diffey had dinner last night with Ed Jones and Scott Dixon? His name dropping antics wore out a decade ago. BHW
The only positive are these "get to know" segments on some of these drivers. Enjoyed the one on Zach Veach. Of course enjoyed hearing Hinch had to piss himself.
Will resume Monday 11:30 am eastern (10:30 central). NBCSN had a replay scheduled for 12 eastern, so I set the DVR to restore the redundant event and being 30 min early. Although the forecast for TN (just north of AL) is for rain tomorrow, too. So we'll see if they're going to broadcast another two hours of stop and parade.
Ha! Good one! But he does this all the time. Instead of saying the right thing like, "I was able to attend a dinner where Scott Dixon and Ed Jones were also guests...". He goes into this whole thing about how he had dinner with Scott Dixon, Ed Jones and in times past with Mario Andretti (even though it was a dinner given for Mario Andretti) and with Stefano Domenicalli. Diffey is little more than a fan boy who's able to mix it up with some players at media dinner events but you know damn well none of them wants him at their table. It's little more than self-aggrandizing and when he puts that bait out there for Paul Tracy or Townsend Bell to bite on (just as he did with Hobbs and Matchett) but they're usually stone silent. You may almost see them rolling their eyes each time. BHW
Pity about the weather at Barber today. When it comes down like that, there's no way to make it safe. Cameras showed multiple places where the water was ponding up and there isn't a rain tire made that can channel out that kind of water. BHW
I'm not a fan of Diffey, at least compared to Bob Varsha. However, they both had the restraint to not "overtalk?" during the race broadcast like the SkySports guys do.
It looks like the forecast is mainly dry from about 1 PM to 6 PM, so they should be able to finish the race.
Diffey must have relatives working for NBC Sports. Nepotism is the only explanation as to how he keeps his gig there. They really don't need a third (but if they absolutely must have a lead commentator, why not Jon Beekhuis?). Bell - cool. Tracy - cool. Diffey - insufferable especially when he has to vamp the way he did through the rain delays yesterday. BHW
Great race today with rain coming in at the end. Gotta pull for the little rookie and Rossie never had his car together. On to Indy where I’ll be in turn one.
