Does anyone have a good independent shop in san diego?
I have being using Steve Maxwell. Just picked up car yesterday from annual service. This is 3rd time I have used him since moving to San Diego from Miami. I like him and will continue to use. He is available to chat even when I just stop by without an appointment. He fixes car correctly the first time. Feel he is honest about what services are needed and when. Pricing is fair. Takes the time to explain services performed and answer questions.
Yep, I've heard positive things about Steve Maxwell also. Agreed! We're really lucky to have Gary and his team here in San Diego for our normal service needs. Pricing has always been fair and he's 100% transparent about the work at every step of the way. They are also masters at restoration of classic Ferrari/Lambo/Masers - I mean, the very best, world renowned.
Bobileff does great work. Steer clear of Cavallo - I had a terrible experience with them and their crew. Fast Cars - if you are willing to travel north. They also have an excellent reputation.

Concur on Gary Bobileff. He did the PPI on my 360 and has serviced the car for two years. Excellent service and Gary is a standup guy.
I don't have any ties to any of the shops listed but when I google Steve Maxwell i got a hit to F-chat regarding his shop and not the greatest endorsements. Might as well take him off my list then. I try to only recommend those with pretty spotless reputations.
Thanks I'll go spy, that is about 1 1/2 miles from where I work. I went down and spoke with Steve Maxwell. I'd use him once to see how things go. i liked his "hot rodder" attitude. anyone that designs and builds their own tube amplifiers can't be all bad. Craig
Craig, before searching for RRPM give them a call. When I talked to Jim M. 8 weeks ago he told me they are sales only, no service. If you are in need of a mechanic I used Ace Motorsports last month to perform a 30K on my 430 and everything went well. PM me if you need more information. They are in the Business Park off Sycamore.
