Anyone have experience importing a modern car from the EU and registering with Hawaii DMV for road use? I'm shopping Ferraris and one has bought my eye. I understand the basics of the difficulties with importing a vehicle from the EU to the USA (problems solved with time and money), but I wonder specifically if it's even possible to register an EU-spec car here. Anyone with first-hand experience and insight? When I looked into the Ariel Atom, I decided it was not worth risking it based on failures I read about. My inclination is to not even bother, but if it's been done successfully, I would be inclined to consider it if the right vehicle was in question. Thanks C

. Yeah, I read his posts on the subject. Daunting but not insurmountable. My biggest concern is the final step of making it Road legal in our glorious state. If there is an opportunity for sabotage, it could definitely be at the DMV.
