As spring (and hopefully a managed end to Covid) approaches, I'm looking forward to some summer driving. The TR needs new shoes and I am considering upgrading to slightly larger wheels while retaining most of the styling of the original spline mounted single bolt wheels. I am aware of Image Wheels (Bespoke Alloy Wheels in Modern and Classic Styles - 10" - 20" Made in the UK (imagewheels.co.uk)) as a source. Does anybody have direct experience of this company or can offer other recommendations?

Good thread. Thanks for providing the links. Dimension issues aside were you satisfied with quality of finish?

Make sure they get the dimensions for the center trim from your wheels or they will just give you a stainless center cap to cover up the nuts that hold the spline to the rim and your center covers wont fit. They are a great company to deal with.

Very true. If I approach them then I will be sure to provide all the measurements off the existing wheels. The fact they are still in business tells you that they must be doing something right. Also I'm not sure I would even consider a company outside the UK, I appreciate that folks in other countries may not have as many options.

OttoB on this forum had a complaint about the screws on the split rims corroding way to early. It's in his project 400-thread

Image wheels are able to supply the wheels I want but I will need to remove the central splined hubs from my existing 16 inch wheels. In other words I won't be able to interchange wheels easily. I also spoke to Hill Engineering who do a 512BBi hub but at present don't do one for a TR. Is anybody aware of a manufacturer of replacements so that I can purchase 4?

I don't know of anyone supplying splined hubs for the TR but should you find someone I will be buying them so I can swap wheels easily too!

Yeah I think there's a market for it. Anybody else interested? The TR base is bigger than earlier models so to me it seems a worthwhile aftermarket development.
