Ah, by the way, I hope you're not into shooting anyone entering your house, even if they're attacking u cause that'll bring u to jail immediately in this socialist country.

Yep, unfortunately the left wing at power right now take like 90% of their votes from ex-immigrants and thieves/robbers, so they gotta protect their fanbase.

somebody kills u, he's out in some months. U kill him, u're gonna have to sell ur house to pay the lawyers. Basically the law in Italy is "u have to be poor or u have to live in fear".

If our business hadnt its roots in this fantastic place ruined by the socialists, I'd have moved to Switzerland years ago.

Now for some suggestions. Place CAMERAS everywhere u can think of. Vicenza has seen quite some robberies in the last months. Or at least so I read in the newspapers.

place cameras and voice recorders and if not during the day, use them at night. Place alarms and lights connected to infrared sensors outside and inside. Usually 90% of them runs away when they see trouble, luckily.

Cause even if the right parties managed to change a little bit the law regarding Excessive use of force during self defence, still u gotta prove in the court (YOU gotta prove it, you are guilty of murder by default) that the use of force was inevitable and that they were attacking you (so shoot them IN THE FRONT, do not even think in the back, or your possessions will change owner instantly)

There was this year this case of 5 criminals (some of ROM race, of course), they tried to break into a jewelry, one of them got stuck the others outside started to get nervous and the one inside started threatening the woman attending the clients.

A gas station attendant came out with his rifle and shot in the air shoting to them to go away, they immediately turned towards him, started shooting at him and started going TO him.

He shot one in the leg, he died of blood loss some time later while the other ran away.

All of this proved by local cameras and witnesses.

The family of the dead robber/shooter are threatening to sue the attendant for murder and he was automatically accused of excessive use of self defence and he is still in trial. This was basically the case that sparked the mild change of the law.

But there are hundreds of this stories. Right now after the change u can shoot, but only if they are attacking u (shoot the front) and not if they are running/not posing a threat.
And u better have witnesses or recordings to prove that they were aggressive.

There have been people saying that the thieves told them "to go to bed" and "we're not gonna hurt you" once being spotted, so that they are sure that even if u have voice recorders, they didnt say anything aggressive towards you.

    missing America already ?

I'm well aware my USA rights don't follow me, but I'll never understand why socialist want to remove the human right to self defense.

They dont wanna remove ur rights to self defence, They want to take ur money away from u.

Socialist countries (and their parasite left wing politicians) like Italy or Greece live on the votes of the poor and stupid, we all know that. The poor and stupid live on state checks, charities or robbing.
So to make robbing easier they dont allow u to shoot the criminal, so he can go and rob somebody else. And if u DO shoot, a trial awaits u, with all the related costs that go to state attorneys, prosecutors and judges, who live on that. They dont really want u in jail (u will most likely bail out), they want ur money. Possibly all of them.

Storytime : thief enters house, owner finds him, shoots him inside the house frontally. Frustrated and scared he throws the body in a near river.

The thief's WIFE tells the police his husband wanted to rob THAT house and didnt come back (I am NOT kidding you). The police comes to the house, questions the owner, he confesses the killing in self defence.

8 months ago the first degree sentence (there are 3 before it's definitive) was 10 years of jail to the owner and 50k euros in damages to the wife of the killed robber. The judge said that since he disposde of the body he cannot be sure that he killed the thief in self defence (and anyway the first degree judges are only ***** who want to avoid getting troubles from the criminals they should condemn). The poor guy is not in jail right now, jail time starts only after the definitive sentence, but still I couldnt believe it.

    I'm closely following this case.

Then again u are a US citizen, so prolly thieves will never come to your house.

Never thought it about that way, politicians pandering for votes. You hear similar stories out of the UK; and when I was stationed in Germany the Communist nightclub bombers were released after their 20 year "life" sentence. The only things worth stealing are my TV and motorcycle, but both are US spec. LOL
