Glad I can start this thread. 715 HP, 0-60 in under 3.2 seconds, 200+ mph....and none of that matters because looks how damn beautiful this thing is: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Aston Martin is claiming superior performance to an F12. If they have delivered that will truly be something.
How does Aston do it? Are they on a tight allocation system like Ferrari and Porsche( to some degree), or are they going to make all that they can sell? I would love to get in line for a volante version. Supposedly, they will be released early next year. David
beautiful as it is, why chose this over an 812? slightly nicer (conservative) looking but the auto trans cannot compare to Ferrari dct. an no way does the turbo amg compare to na Ferrari v12. its slightly cheaper but no big deal and a used f12 is cheaper than the aston anyway. maybe its available for anyone to buy where as new Ferrari has wait lists?
AE31, based on the AE28, which was developed in conjunction with AM's former parent company.....Ford.
Elements of truth - but other than origins of the base geometry, Cosworth developed the AM V12 essentially from the ground up with a unique deep skirted aluminum block, etc. Plenty of engineering and refinement since then. And look at how many manufacturers have given us many generations of fine engines from an original base design (think Jag I6, Columbo V12, etc). I might agree that the Ferrari V12 is more technically elegant; however the Aston powerplant is unique to the brand and plenty competent and satisfying for what most of us mere mortals need...
well i will concede the style and motor are top notch but the transmission is big let down. will need a stick shift if auto option is slushbox.
Headline on an email I just received on the car in bold... Aston Martin DBS Superleggera (Italian: "Super Light") No where does it talk about what it actually weighs... or what weight savings is over a db11... So Fail. Cheap marketing gimmick. And I Love the car and name. But don’t put so much emphasis on something you can’t tout or back up. Looks like AM just paid to stick superleggera on the side from the trademark holder. I get it. Branding. Yay. Robb
“Super Light” heavy ass gt car... I kid. I would love to purchase one. Love the F12 - not the 812... I emailed Aston Martin New England. They clarified the new DBS saves 200 pounds over a db11 and adds 115 hp. Just Over 3700 pounds. So that could be 3749... Robb
Beautiful looking car. Honestly, Aston Martin has been doing a lot of great things recently. Quite impressive for what is a fairly small company.
