(Picture below for visual reference)I’ve owned my 2018 Ferrari 488 Spider for a little over 3 years now and just recently discovered right by the key holder spot, that cover came off and exposed a hidden start/stop button.

Is this for people/mechanics who don’t have access to the keys are able to move it around the shop or is it for when you lose your key it still will let you start the car? I have not pressed the button or tired it because I don’t know what it’s for.
If this is a start/stop button, that worry’s me because if I spotted it, a car thief could spot it also.

I was able to snap the cover back on and now I can’t get it back off but I promise you, there IS a start/stop button under where my finger is pointing to.

thanks in advance for any info!

If the battery goes dead in the key fob that is the emergency start button. You put the key into the holder and use the start button under the cover to externally excite the key fob and allow starting. It is in your owners manual.

Is the emergency start/stop button directly under the fob holder where the Allen bolts are?

Do you have to remove the allen bolts directly under the fob holder to access the emergency start/stop button?
