Because the sales guy and I go back a ways, I get to order a GT4 the way I want to. No silly options. The basic car is so damn good, why screw it up? Attached is my build order, what else would you include?

Keep in mind, I plan on being the first GT4 guy to roll 100,000 miles.

Manual, carbon buckets, maybe skip the carbon brakes especially if you are going to track it. As you said it really doesn't need much. One thing I might do is a PTS color and really make it mine.

I like the full bucket racing seat but maybe you want more comfort for the long haul.
I like the black calipers over the red.
I'm lazy so I want the foldable power mirrors
To stay w theme how about the steering wheel w the yellow stripe at 12 o'clock
You have the brushed alu interior, I like adding alu foot rest & pedal and the illuminated door sills.
All else you have is perfect.
My configuration totaled to $115, slightly over your $108...

Cool, I like yellow. Only thing better is signal orange.

I don’t want racing seats. Of the 100,000 miles, probably less than 1% will be at the track,

As much as I like Yellow, PTS Auratiumgrün or Sepiabraun in nonmetallic.

I like your build as it is. No extra fluff because none is needed. I have a spyder on order and it's pretty basic except for PTS

That is just about the perfect spec - no fluff but everything you will actually enjoy.

Only things I could think of:
    - the smoking package for $0. That gets you an extra cigarette lighter power source and an ashtray that is great for coins
    - if you want to dress up the interior a little bit, consider yellow seat belts for $360 and leather steering column (looks really good and you see it all the time!) for $470

A GT4 is a fantastic car and really does not need a ton of options. Good luck!!

So nobody would order sports chrono?

Remember, this is a stick, and I'm not looking at much track time.

It is essentially $550 for a cool looking clock if thats what you like.
Has little practical value except maybe required for the Track Precision App.

Suggest skipping it, as you are not tracking the car and to stay consistent with your very pure specification.

That's what the sales guy and I already decided. I'm not going to be doing any launch burnouts.

Thanks for the tip in the smoker option.

I agree with the steering wheel stripe.

I will never order another new GT car without Carbon Ceramic brakes. Not only for the performance but NO BRAKE DUST!

    Great car though....congrats!

I would but you know me...I lust after track toys. I was at the PECLA yesterday for lunch with a friend while his kid did the GT3 experience thing. In the center were a 1/2dozen gt4 clubsports. I think the best 2 best track cars you and I can buy are the gt4club and gt3cup. I wish I did not have the Porsche curse.

I would second the smoking package. In fact I was just using that power outlet in my Cayman this morning for my V1...

I also would pass on Sports Chrono. It's probably good if you have PDK, but with the manual it really adds nothing useful.

Looks like a lot of fun! I was just thinking about how my Cayman is probably the one car I couldn't live without. It can do it all.

If it was me, I'd probably get a Cayman GTS 4.0 instead. But I hate big fixed wings.

Incidentally, I didn't realize you needed to be friends with the salesman to custom order a Porsche?

You can take the wing off, but you can't get a GTS w/o SC. Anyone can custom order a Porsche.

    To OP:
Some find the LWBs more comfortable. Does it get that cold in TX? Is the only way to get Auto A/C w/ the 2 zones? The net will sag.
I am sure PTS has some orange options.
    Otherwise, great spec.
Second page presumably has your personal info.

    Isn't a GT4 without a wing a GTS? I mean, for all practical purposes?

To get a low spec. Most GT4s are pricing out for at least $10k more.

You probably already know about the single best option on this car, but worth a reminder ... European Delivery
It would be an incredibly memorable experience, especially with a buddy or girlfriend/wife.

Do it if at all possible - you only live once!

Quite different suspesion between the two, Gt4 is going to feel sharper.. But for street as you allude to, maybe not as huge a difference.
To me the wing is not that big and kinda cool, it works with the shape of the car.
GT4 is a keeper sort of car a modern synthesis of the porche greats over the past 60 years, GTS is good, but in the end a 6cyl cayman.

Good you're getting the leather wheel and shift knob, alcantara can look grubby after a while.
Since youre mostly driving on street, your comfy seats are a good choice. If you were to really get into trackign the car regularily, seats can be changed.
Colors are personal preferences. I prefer muted colors in road cars simply beacause brighter colors can attract attention, but yellow porches are cool.

Ceramic brakes are to me a question mark, the stopping power of either setup is more than adequate and then some. If its budget unlimited for track use cermamics do confer some nth degree benefit due to unsprung weight, most porche folks I know who track a lot swap their ceramics (for resale time) to steel rotors due to cost of a consumable and because the difference is not that huge.

However it comes youre going to love it, and more options dont change the way the car drives which is what this car is all about, driving.,
