How would you make FerrariChat.com better?

Ive always loved Barchetta.cc however the website sucks, so if your trying to make something really amazing to wrap around information that is equally interesting, you have all my support and I can't wait for it to take off! I don't see the site happening anytime soon. What I want costs money and time - and I don't have any money and subsequently can't afford anyone's time. But who knows what the future holds... We'll see...

 

You know Carbon, I rarely see you "on line," yet you seem to reply amazingly quickly to posts at ungodly hours of the morning, and then still show up as not being online... Do you have one of those Stephen Hawking chairs with Rob Lay spoon feeding you and pop-ups to let you know when somebody has mentioned your name on FChat?

I think it would be interesting to have a subforum for people to host question threads. We had all those ask me about _____ in the subscribed forums for a while. Those would be cool to have on a long term basis. We could have threads like "ask me about being a marine", "ask me about running a consulting firm", "ask me about running an internet forum".

I saw this on another website forum work well and it would probably work even better with our demographics.

 

I think what you need to do is to use a simple database to store your information. Then you use a code written on your website to retrieve the information stored in your database. The database itself is stored on your host server and can be populated with as much data as the host will allow. This is how I built my website businesses. I put products into a database and the use code to retrieve them into displays that I want. I used PHP and MySQL to accomplish this because the software is open-source and free. By the looks of this forum, am I correct in saying that you use VBulletin? PHP can be used to integrate usernames that people already have into a social network so that people can keep their usernames for both. Have you looked at PHP Fox? This is a pretty good program for building customized social networks. Best of luck.

add a "forum jump" under each page. makes browsing so much easier without having to back pedal to the main forum.

Send Rob Lay or a Moderator a PM with what you want to change it. After you've done that, and cannot sign back into your current username, you should use the one you asked to change it.

I think I have said this before, but a 1 week ban and a harsh HAND written letter for posters who post in the wrong section or cant follow simple directions....
