sadly, this is the sort of binge drinking that got kids into troulbe with alcohol poisoning and in some case, resulting in deaths......
from beer? now, no way should he get behind the wheel of an automobile, but I never heard of anyone being poisoned by drinking beer.
In college I built a beer bong that would hold four beers, but I could never handle that much volume at once. My roomate could do it with ease, however, probably faster than this guy. Tip of the Day: Use draft, pouring cans into the funnel results in way too much foam in your stomach about 5 seconds after finishing.
Non-alcoholic beer even has about a .5 percent of alchohol in it. I'd like to see some reported deaths by beer before I'd jump to this conclusion. Everytime you see one of these stories the kid is mixing the hard stuff and often with other drugs and crap. I really think the kid is more likely to have his stomach burst from gas than die from alcohol poising from chugging beer.
not an authority on the subject but at the rate of 11.5 secs per pitcher (esp. in a binge drinking environment which happens on a bet or dare), it won't be hard to accumulate enough alcohol into one's body to do damage.....besides, it's fair to assume beer isn't the only alcohol of choice at these frat. parties !!!! i am sensitive to this topic since a friend of my son died from binge drinking at the age of 15.....first he choked on his vomit and then his body went into a seizure and his heart stopped beating....drink of choice at the party was BEER....
I don't think he could keep that one going. Notice he only downs the 1 pitcher. I imagine he spent the rest of the evening in a responsible manner , , , right? I am sorry to hear about the friend of your son. But, I personally like to party and that may include a beer bong or two or a beer chug. Is it responsible? No. Could you conceivably die from it? maybe. Could you conceivably die from driving your car down the road at high speed? YEP. OK.
You can die from ingesting too much water... water intoxication or hyponatremia. Dilutes sodium. Not good.
