    HI All,

I was a little apprehensive about posting this, since my last post on converting my 599 to a gated 6 speed was received with mix views. In particular there was a lot of criticism of the decision I made to ask EAG in Austin Texas to do the conversion. It left me a little apprehensive, as I had already put down a deposit. I had no back history with EAG and went with the gut feeling I had after speaking with them at long length. Now my car is back with me, and some of you who follow me on IG and YT will already know this, I can say hand on heart what a great experience I had, to go down and watch my car be converted. I also got to put my own hands on some wrenches.
Loving all of what the car has become, thanks to EAG.
If you are interested in the conversion and how it went, here is a video of my week long experience at EAG while they converted my car.

Thank you for the YouTube video on your experience with EAG. As a fellow DIY guy I’m in the process of converting my ‘05 612. I was hoping for some footage on the removal of the pedal box, as this has become a hurdle in my project that I have not yet cleared. I guess you were not present for this part of the EAG work. Regardless, I’m very happy for your smooth sailing with the conversion and your enjoyment of the result. I hope we two gear jammers can get together someday for some fun runs in the South Bay. (I live in San Leandro.)

I wonder, did Art Bartosik mention any future adjustment of the cable mechanism? I know Hoovie’s Garage Tyler’s 599 required some follow up work in this regard, although that early EAG 599 also needed two revised gate plates as well. Also, Art worked on Daily Driven Exotics Dave’s EAG 599 and one of the issues was that — according to Art — Dave had stretched the cables. Art made adjustments and the car was working until Dave broke both side gears in the differential. It would be good to know more about owners’ real world experience with the EAG cables.
