I wanted to know what Ferrari owners out there would pay for a LaFerrari if they have the chance to buy one in the secondary market now. Assume low miles and perfect condition.

As deliveries take place we will see the chosen "loyal" Ferrari collectors and owners put their LF's up for sale. The question is what is the market price going to be for them? Essentially, that price is only going to be what us Ferrari owners will pay.

I wanted serious thoughtful answers where hypothetically, it was as if somebody was asking you for your best price you would pay and if they accepted you had to pay it and buy the car, period. On the other hand if it was too low you were out. No LF for you. What would your only best and final offer be?

I'm guessing they will be offered at double msrp when they finally make it into customers hands in North America.

Would not be surprised to see someone pay north of $2M before tax.

My logic is that the LaF exists in the second-highest automotive tier--below the likes of Pagani and Koenigsegg, who charge $1.5-2M for their craftmanship, not just their speed. The secondary market for the LaF will push the price of the car into that market, by default of that market simply existing.

Do you want a truly hand-built Pagani/Koenigsegg, or do you want a second-hand (i.e., pay for your lack of an initial invitation) LaF? Same price.

My take--and I'm not a Ferrari owner--I wouldn't pay anything for one. The LaF made Fiorano look teensy tiny. It's too fast to be truly used outside of a very large racetrack. I'd rather pay <$100K for something that is slower and can be really driven every day.

Depends on the local taxes. In Denmark for example it would be something like 4 million Euros.

I don't think I would buy one at all. I'm really not a fan of it. I'm not sure if the car is trying too hard, or if it's just plain odd looking to my eyes. The interior is awful for a car of this price point, and the electrical systems have yet to be proven reliable.

IMHO the car is a gimmick..harsh I know, but that's how I see it.

If the question is how much would I pay?

    MSRP.

I don't take too kindly to flippers, and would've preferred more scrutiny by Ferrari of their supposed loyalists.

9 out 10 would prefer the newer, much more advanced and incomparably faster LaFerrari. But if I had to choose a used hypercar, it would be an Enzo without a doubt.

This isn't a circle that I am currently playing in but with Ferrari's track record of supercars only going up and way up with current F40 and F50 values. Why would you not purchase one at msrp or a couple hundred grand over? As I'm not in this league currently I'm curious why if you had the opportunity you would pass regardless of the your feeling on the car if it was to be a good investment long term. Just asking.

if you can afford it, pay whatever it takes to get one, including double msrp. why not? it will eventually appreciate to that anyway and why not have it now and enjoy it.

laf lives outside the rules of other cars. ie. never pay over list for a new z06 or even speciale as they will depreciate like a typical used car. laf is different

What is the MSRP on the LaF. I know none has been sold in the U.S. yet. So calculated cost of a Euro car in American $$$.

I love the LaF but this is a very valid point. It was fine for the F40 but if you look at what Pagani and Koenigsegg are doing quality wise I can't help but feel that Ferrari is indeed sub-par in their finishing.

How the interior looks like is hardly how I feel how good such and such car is, but put yourself in the following situation: If you buy a 10 million dollar house and the interior looks like it's been build by Ray Charles, you're going to be a little annoyed. Especially when the house next door of equal cost has been finished by Versace's team of Chinese child labourers.

At a million + Vat for a car you do appreciate the extra hours put in that the likes of Pagani do.

Going rate of a Zonda 760 is ~€1600000. So less than that for a LaF (provided I own the 760 at that point, lol).

Anyhow, the discussion is pointless. I'm being hypocritical here. I'd buy a Zonda if I had finished the interior (Ray Charles would've done a better job, to show the indication of how much I love the Zonda :D).

Someone in this thread refused at 1.5m. Personally I think it's a good price...Buy what you really want and assume the value of the car €1.00 after you buy it. If/when you sell it and it's more than that, consider it a good day :D.

"Past results are no guarantee of future returns."

It may take years, a decade, or more for the car to significantly appreciate. Also, depending on the price paid and market conditions, this appreciation may or may not outpace basic inflation or average returns on other investments.

Also factor in initial sales tax or VAT, annual registration taxes, insurance, maintenance and storage of a vehicle, as well as risk of loss.

Finally as of right now there is no guarantee on how many cars Ferrari will produce and/or possibility of additional similar cars which will further dilute the market. LaFerrari will likely be larger than the promised 499, and maserati/xx, etc. cars could amount to a hundred or more. There were 1300 F40's but over 1,000 LF's is unlikely.

I guess some people care more about the appearance rather than the essence. The house argument was poignant. Unless that house drives really well of course!!!
