    I read somewhere that you should expect to negotiate at least 10 percent off the listing price on the average car. But since Ferraris aren't bought as often as your typical Fords or Chevys, you can easily negotiate 15-20+ percent. Is there any truth to this? What percent do you guys usually negotiate when buying exotic cars?

    you get one brand spanking new off the boat: you pay MSRP.
    you find an already titled car in the showroom with few miles: you can make whatever deal the owner allows through the dealer. {mostly greater than MSRP}

    I don't have any set % rule I just gauge it based off what the market dictates.

    If you're lucky enough to get an allocation for new, you have the privilege of paying msrp.
    If you can find what you want used, you can make some deals; unless of course it's a Speciale, SpecialeA, 599gto, laferrari, etc., then you'd be extremely lucky to pay only 30% over.

    I just bought mine and there was absolutely no room. Its a Ferrari, you want one and they know you can afford them. Alot depends whether or not its a desirable spec.

    Ferraris are sold at MSRP. There are exceptions if you want something unpopular but not many. Used popular cars bring over MSRP for a couple of years then depreciate. Getting an early allocation for a popular car at MSRP is an earned privilege.

    A new 488 for a walk in is probably a two year wait.

    What other car company sells out a limited edition without announcing the price? Even stranger what other car company sells out an edition before its official release? And you want to negotiate, lol

    You get ZERO off a new Ferrari. Used is a different story.

    From my experience, close to 4% off my f430 spider and then almost 5% off my 458 Italia. Those were on used cars from an authorized Ferrari dealership. I never heard of anyone getting 20% off from a Ferrari dealer.

    brand new = wait + MSRP

    If you are buying a new Ferrari then you really don't NEED a discount!

    5 years old seems to be the sweet spot (if you can wait) on V8 cars. The product cycle at Ferrari on V8s is 5 years. So the market starts to get flooded with used cars around that point as guys trade up for the new model and deals can be had. The product cycle on (regular) V12s is about 6-7 years so adjust your time horizons accordingly.

    You'll always be the guy with the last model Ferrari. But there are worse hardships in life. LOL

    I managed £2.5k extra on the Cali trade in, and £2.5k off the price of the '13 458 Spider I was buying, that was about as much as I could manage. Needed to wait a week for dealer to accept. All in all 2.6% off so not much but "better than nout"
