Stupid livery, cheeky name, but this is what the 812 should have looked like from the beginning. Good looking car.

They said the Omologata is the 10th V12 Special Project.
    What do you think?

All I know is I asked if we would show it at Pebble Beach this year and they all looked like this was too soon, that 2022 would be the year.

It has been a fantastic experience since the start. Perhaps some day I’ll be more forthcoming.

The interesting mental exercise now has been, as much as we all seem to love the design, it is inevitable that there will be those who are critical. I have asked them, how do you deal with this? It seems like such a horrible thing to work for years on something and get nasty people spitting on your effort. These designers have to deal with this over and over again. I think it will be hard to see the negative critics. I may just delete the only social media I have, Ferrari Chat, before launch. Who needs to hear people denigrate your effort to make a fantastic and special car?

That would be a shame. You can't please everyone and at the end of the day what matters is that you are happy with it. I wouldn't let opinions from people, most of whom, you have never met let it get to you.

Please do not. Simply have someone read the positive feedback to you and skip the negative. Don’t deny us. :)

Everyone's not gonna like everything - some aren't taught to hold that thought. No big. You'll have the keys - have a blast!

I requested that my SP48 instead be referred to as Project Speciale XLVIII. In the USA, our biggest sporting event of the year is our American Football Super Bowl. We refer to each game with Roman Numerals because it is so significant.

Along those same lines, and with a nod toward Rome and Italy, I felt my SP should use Roman Numerals. I am hoping they both approve this and that the trend continues.

It's going to be a long year. Do you think it can be ready for Cavallino 2022 (January)?

That is not necessarily a one-off, looks more like a design study but it doesn't mean it was built.

Saw it on IG as well, looks like a mix between the 599XX and the F12TRS with a few Mc bits in the area behind the exhaust pipe. Still haven't understood if it's real or fake, maybe someone else has more infos to share.

If this is true, I think Ferrari should cancel its SP program immediately before buyers's taste destroy the brand's reputation...

Not necessarily an SP car. Plenty of companies do mods out there, some quite radical, and quite tasteless.

I was told using Roman numerals is something Ferrari would never do and that it is politically incorrect in Italy. I cannot find a thing about this on the inter web. Any of you have any insight into how that is somehow offensive in Italy?

I used them every day when I worked in a law firm years ago and nobody ever said anything about it nor did I ever find anyone even remotely offended by them.

My only guess is that someone, while reading roman numerals, might be "brought back" to the 20'/30's...Mussolini's political years. He was very keen on roman/latin traditions and the ancient Rome's symbology (numerals, use of V instead of U, roman eagle, roman salute, fasces lictorii et cetera)....but that's a stretch.
