That is a wonderful lineup of cars. That's very interesting given all the talk on the forum about Manual versus F1 that you seem to have sold the manual 355 GTS, around the time of acquiring a 355 F1 GTS... and then you have gone back to manual on the 430. Especially seeing as many people on here consider the earlier F1 models less useable than the later models. would love to see some pics of your garages.
Good question. For this thread, I would say financing or leasing the car counts, but not renting one for just a few days. .
I know that car, don't I? Was it not displayed at the Spring Thaw in Reston, VA about five years ago? MB, my neighbor's brother, was holding the hood separately and telling the story of the restoration, right?
In my case - 88 328 gts, bought in 99 1979 ish 400i auto - bought in 2001 ish but sold quite quickly - not mature enough for it then! 1976 308 vetro 1988 testarossa I still have those three.
This should be a public poll. Who on earth has actually owned 2000+ Ferraris? That would have to be a dealer (if it's not someone having fun and making things up) and I would argue that no dealer actually "owns" those cars. Not even the Sultan of Brunei owned 2000+ Ferraris.
1982 Mondial, bought in '88. 10 cars in total since then, 575SA being the last (sold it last September). No Ferrari in my garage now.
If the person who clicked on the 2000+ Ferraris in the poll wants to remain anonymous, go ahead and PM me with a little bit more info. Was it a joke? (btw, that's okay by me). Or are you a dealer? Or some other explanation? I promise to keep your identity secret and just post the info you want me to post in this thread. Thanks. .
Dear John, Actually it was $2,225 but remember that was two thirds of my annual salary at the time. Best regards, Robert
Pffft. I'm at 11. Not sure how many more I'll own. I love my current car lineup there are not many others that get my heart going like these do.
I apologize for forgetting the extra $25. I paid $20,000 for my lowly '78 308 when I bought it in 2003. That was probably a little less than a third of my annual salary at that time too. Never thought of it that way.
2 1st in 2010, 2nd in 2015 550 Maranello rosso corsa / nero 599 GTB Fiorano grigio Silverstone / cuoio I still have those two and i will hold them. Daniel
Wow - that is an amazing story. I have just watched the Petrolicious video. What a beautiful car and so lovely to see it being driven as it was intended. Regards Dave
7 still have 5 Now re others I have had over 40 corvettes still have a few..but that's another subject
3 for me Bought my 77 308 GTB in 1999. Kept it until a few months ago. While I owned it I also bought a Mondial 3.2 cab for a few years than sold it to buy a 1990 Testarossa which I drove for 2 summer. Presently without any F car. Will I ever own another one? I don't know! Presently have 2 vettes.
