Ok, so I know over 1000 F40's were made, but how many are there currently? The reason that I ask is that there were over 1million Morris Marinas made, but thankfully less than 700 of them are still on the road.
I think it would be very very hard to pinpoint the exact amount. This car came up nearly 20yrs... thats time enough for a few to disappear into the unknown. Plus I think it was much harder back then to maintain an F40 count like its being done now with the enzo/mc12/fxx, due to the simple fact of communication barriers. With the internet its much easier, back then it would be near to impossible. So... I think you'll never get your answer
Most of those were non-U.S spec cars. US cars were only built in 90/91/92 and were less than 215 of the total number produced. The factory did produce a few race cars in 94/95 that were not part of the 1300 or so street cars. There has no doubt been some attrition in the total number over the past 19 years of F40 existence.
1311 units chassis n° 76204 to n° 95317 + 7 prototypes (70167, 70205, 73015, 74045, 74047, 74049,....) 63 units in France, 300 units in USA
do you remenber what you done last month? exatly i don t remember but the infos looks correct. perhaps in my V8 Ferrari books.
Actually I do remember what I did last month... But I wasn't trying to give you a hard time. I don't know what the correct answer is. That's why I asked. I didn't mean any offense. Appologies if it sounded that way.
Don t worry SDortonF40, my english it seems to hurt everybody. i tell you that because the memory aptitude for conserving details it s only 2 weeks. so, about F40 i have this informations and i give it to you. it s all i can tell you. for me it correct because the book it s one of the most famos concerning V8 Ferrari. if you have any more question if i can help you it will be a pleasure. bye
LOL... I think I was too caught up in my ability to post a semi-accurate number of the total number of F40s produced that I never even bothered to read the first post of the thread... Sorry...
hello, i recall reading years ago in either car & driver magazine or autoweek magazine that the total # of U.S. spec F40's sold here was 197. they broke them down by numbers each year (90' 91' 92') that # always stuck in my mind because the ferrari publications (forza, cavillino, etc) always state 1,311 from 1987 to 2002. obviously that's total factory output. for what it's worth. joseph
may be.. but someone wants to know the F40 quantities product... we are polite and reply to him. Don t worry someone gives you the informations needed.
These are the figures I have for US-spec F40s: 1990: 87 1991: 52 1992: 56 Total = 195 Plus 3 Euro cars that found their way to the US. I could not say how many F40s remain, but I would say that the vast majority do. Even quite heavily crashed cars have been repaired. Although I know of some that have been smashed I do not know for sure of any that have definitively been completely destroyed and no longer exist. Jonathan
I know of the one that was raised from the dead. Check out the Forza magazine featuring the F40 that was saved by Roland Linder. Although I know of some that have been smashed I do not know for sure of any that have definitively been completely destroyed and no longer exist. Jonathan[/QUOTE]
Christian, 76204 is a US 328 GTS (ZFFXA20A5J0076204). 20 records in Autocheck. 70167 and 70205 are GTO Evoluzione chassis It seems that 76624 is the first production car.
