When ever I am asked how many Ferrari F40's there are, I give the standard answer that just over 1300 were produced by the factory. Many previous discussions concluded that the F40 is not really a limited production car. But numerous cars were raced and crashed, and it is not uncommon to hear that some road going cars also crash.

It has been said that having enough money to buy one of these cars, does not guarantee sufficient driving ability. I understand that a common cause for an accident is putting the power on hard before exiting a corner which may cause the tail to come out when the turbo's kick in.

Does anyone know how many F40's remain? Surely there aren't anywhere near 1300 left.
