Thanks Simon lets double check with Paul and his matching or not, will then repost the totals. Yep Greg Norman designed a few courses out in Dubai too some golfer and by all accounts a bit of a businessman too! regards Alastair
Hello Paul The chassis number is 27535 for the reg plate number WOW57T colour Blue Sera. Talked to the owner today he has confirmed it a RHD 400GT (carbueretted manual) and was in good condition with original interior and matching engine number. It has been sold. Interestingly he used to race cars and I asked his opinion and he said 'its a mans car' and performs and handles very well. He said it was in good condition apart from needing brake overhaul. No further detail maybe we will hear from the new owner. Regards Alastair
Heres the updated list of the 27 RHD 400GT cars total production (NB Carbueretted manual) In existence worldwide. UK 24741 Silver 21341 Dark Silver (Canna de Fucile) Scotland. 27535 Blue sera France 27741 Burgundy red Australia 22569 Tassies 21055 21185 Blue 22417 22547 Blue 27445
Hello Rob Not sure didnt ask him but at £12500 seems even at full price it was a bargain. Of course it is unlikely that anyone would sell a 'perfect' car for that money but its a pretty good 'entry fee' or starting point. Regards Alastair
Very Happy To Learn that the blu sera one is now identified. I pray it will be put back on the road, and not dismantled for a f***** replica.. Because the price was very attractive..to do that !
Sorry guys. 27535 is on its way to Australia after brakes done and a detail. 3 previous keepers and in fantastic condition apart from dust. All new OEM parts came with the car to put it right, along with all books, tools etc. I also purchased the RHD 400i GT (chassis 30681) that was parked in the same garage. Bit of rust but straight & complete. I am sure they will lose their sad faces when they get to warmer climes. Then comes the big decision of which ones to keep.
TINNY BAR$%*D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like you're cornering the market and getting them cheaper than you can in Aussie.
Jings Tassie your hoovering them up! well done. Now ime going to have to update the list again or maybe I should wait! in case you buy some more!!!!! The previous owner said it was in real good condition too so this car could be a very very very good starting point. Once you get her over to Aussie or before would be great to see some pics. Tassie you are the only man in the world with 2 400GT RHD cars bar none catagorically and for sure and I bet you and definitely surely and yes you are, enjoy. Wait a minute you might actually be the biggest collector of 400 series cars too! Och thats it am jealous again. Regards Alastair
Simon & Alastair, The previous owner of my black 400i GT sold a 400 carb engine from an auto he parted out to someone else in Oz. He also sold a blue 365GT4 to Qld for a Daytona project. I bought the 400i GT to prevent that happening to it. Just for the record no Ferrari died in the making of my Daytona Spyder replica, it has an Autokraft chassis with Jag V12 and none of my 400's will be donated to try to legitimize it.
Your 400i GT,is that the one that had 2-3 birthday's on carpoint?..and was purchased very recently. I'd be confident in saying the 365 that died is 1 of 2 being made into Daytona comp replicas,1 of by my aforementioned post, and would be the photo's posted.
Very good Tassie I am impressed you are going to get a lot of satisfaction out of looking after these cars, restoring etc, very smart and bloody excellent. regards Alastair
Congrats Wayne, that's a very good new. In my data #30681 is a Light Blue / Tan 400i Auto, do you confirm ?
Well keep it to yourself then,Bill. We're just trying to make head and tail out of it all. Do you still have your 400. I had it on pretty good authority(long term F car owner and Fchatter),that a blue 400 shape car was taken to a tip in cut-up form,as the photo's provided(on Fchat..I think)showed.
I've known about these cars for about a year and have been trying to scrape the money together to make the guy an offer but sadly the funds never materialised (bugger!) Personally I think you're a greedy Aussie b*****d who'd better not EVER darken our shores again - I have connections in high places and will know if you're en route. You've been warned.
And stay away from our beautiful, tanned British women too - you stick to those fat hairy Aussie birds!
This car is light blue - don't know the interior but expect you are right, MANUAL tranny. Comes with lots of dust and a bit of rust too.
......................got something right for a change, did'nt I..... There were 2 365/400 shape cars used as donors for 2 Daytona projects,in Qld. These projects are still underway.
