I recently did just a couple of laps of Spa and we were black flagged for making too much noise, apparently we were clocked at 104Db on the main straight.

I disabled Race mode and they seemed happy after that

Does anyone know the peak noise in normal mode?

    Thanks!

Pretty sure Spa's limit is 105 static not drive by so it was probably an attempt at a Belgian 'tax'.....

My recollection is your car should make 105 static not in race - I'm fairly sure there's older threads with more precise answers

Hmmm - buried deep in Google is a suggestion of around 120 static in race (3/4 rev 1 mtr 45 deg) !!

120 dB seems to be on the high side IMO.

Nope it has been measured at between 120-130 dB from web reports at WOT.

I've had my wrist slapped at 120db, but my CS has a very open exhaust.

Measured dB will be a function of position of the meauring device. Closer is louder (duh) so the result is "adjustable."

Measurement location aside, I didn't realize that the CS was that much louder than the 360. I was measured at 90ish at Laguna. If the CS was lets say 110, wouldn't that mean it was 4 times louder??? Would make it challenging to own one and drive it on a track (what it was built for!) - around here you'd just get kicked off most of them at 110...

For the uninitiated, why are there db restrictions on a track?

Most of the time the restriction are because of proximity to neighborhoods. This would be my guess at Spa as well.

Ive never heard a louder roadcar than the CS its completely bonkers loud, I have friends with 700BHP super tuned Shelby mustangs that are hardly half as loud as the cs at full chat. Because of general noise and v noisy lexan windows I carry a pair of ear defenders for long journeys!

This is an old thread but considering the more and more strict rules it is still actual…
What s your view on a db killer,,,,does it harm the engine (increased backpressure)
Did you find an other solution ?
I really want to enjoy this fantastic car on track

many thanks and happy 2025 to all of you

I love the sound of my 360 with the CS exhaust, I wouldn't change it out, but yes, when driving very spirited, it is very loud

I have a Tubi loud on my 360. Is it the same db as a CS exhaust?
All I know is it's ridiculously loud.

The main problem is for track days …I am wondering if a decibel killer would be the solution and what about the increased back pressure does it harm the engine?

Interesting, had no clue the 360 CS is that lound, DB wise, it doesnt sound that loud to me when next to one....

Because retards tend to buy land to build homes or they buy already build homes in the area, and then go and cry to the local goverments etc about the noise of the track, governments listen to them, and therefore we get punished again for something another retard should of thought about before moving and ruining peoples hobbies/passions

It depends if you’re next to it when it’s cold or warm and if the valves are open or not. My car on cold start with valves pinned open has a very loud bark and I’m sure at full song on track would be very loud from behind…

My Modena w euro headers stock cats and cs muffler exhaust is the sweet spot for 360 goodness for me…. But man is it loud at high rpm when valves open….. it screams under over passes… and attracts all sorts of attention.

I sometimes think of putting the stock coffin muff back on as I have a problem w my car being louder than it is fast… but alas I stick w the quintessential f car tone of the mighty cs muffler exhaust system.

CS/F430 is probably louder, bc it is a straight bypass once the flaps open between 3500-4000 rpm
