I have a 360 Spider and the interior has several pieces that have that sticky residue on them. The exterior of the car looks great and would like the interior to match. What is the best process to straighten this out?? I prefer to do it myself vs sending controls out and being without for a period of time. Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated!! Thanks, Bill.

Bill- Send them to Robbie at Sticky No More and they will come back better than new for a reasonable price and a guarantee never to do that again.

Spray a small amount of oven cleaner on a damp soft cloth, and wipe it over the sticky surface. Repeat step as needed. Replace the rag once it becomes saturated with the black tar. No brainer.

+2, and his turn-around time is less than a week, therefore that addresses your concern of not wanting to be down for too long.

Shoot a PM to WAX, he has the secret formula for success if you don't want to use Robbie.

However, I'd certainly let Robbie do it if I were you.

I could have pulled all new stuff from the shelf at Ricambi, but I chose to send mine to Robbie at StickyNoMore instead. A+ Its a no-brainer.

If the "sticky stuff" is a result of removing vinyl stickers, then WD-40 works great. The key to it is you must work a small area and keep it wet with WD-40. I use a small hobby brush to remove the tape spooge. It also helps keep the WD-40 from running down. Have patience!

Alcohol does not work. Brake cleaner does not work. Acetone does not work. Lacquer thinner does not work. I've tried all the above.
Easy off oven cleaner works like magic. Do a quick search of "sticky parts" and you will have all the proof you need. If you can take the knobs off, you will be sticky free in 5 minutes, tops, and with NO rubbing.

+3. Remember, removing the sticky residue is only the first step. Good luck trying to exactly color-match the black. Then there are the decals... Just send it to Stickynomore and be done with it. These parts are too expensive and visible to screw-up. We all like the satisfaction of "doing it yourself", but in this case it's just foolish.

With regards to Easy-Off, in many cases it will remove the residue, but frequently this stuff is really stuck on and requires scraping, followed by a wet sand. I can promise you that no matter how much time you spend, your results will never come out anywhere as nice as the work done by Stickynomore. Robbie has this down to a science, and I'm just about impossible to please.

+50---There are cases where certain products will work well and alot of owners tell other's--"This is the ticket", "Try this, works perfect". This is not the case more often than not. Can't tell you how many parts I have done that were attempted by the owner, only to ruin the parts and sent to me for repair after the fact. I have plenty of parts here right now that Easy Off, alcohol, thinner, etc will not touch. Just be cautious with what you use, these parts are very expensive to replace...

Actually it does. Or at least it did the job on my sticky parts. Cost me all of $12.42 to clean every sticky part inside my F355. This includes the 2 rolls of paper towles, and 2 1000 count boxes of cue tips. I added $0.00 for the labor to do it myself (about 6 hours).

Yes, it's nasty stuff. Use gloves. I removed the parts, sprayed rthem with easy-off, let them sit in the sun for exactly one minute and then rinsed them off under tap water. The sticky coating washed down the drain, leaving only the clean plastic piece. I then sprayed them with Plasti-Coat black rubberized coating and voila! - perfect color and texture match to original. I did the entire interior sticky stuff on the 512TR. The only effort is taking the parts off. I did not have any decals to deal with on the knobs.

I am sure Robbie does a great job, and maybe some sticky residue is tougher to take off than mine, but try removing one knob and using the easy-off method. At worst you'll waste a couple of bucks on something your spouse can use when you are done (or already has in the house). It really is stupidly easy compared to rubbing with alcohol, and it gets the sticky stuff out of every tiny nook on the parts.

    Just my 2 cents.

I have a graphics company I have worked with that reproduces all the decals and they allow light transmission. Just had them do a set for the Maserati QP and they turned out really well.... Most guys who I have seen that do there own work usually do not replace the decals...They are left blank....
