In one of the cars that I'm looking at there is a note in carfax showing "Registration issued or renewed Vehicle color noted as xxxxxx".
That makes me think that this car went through a color change.
Is there anyway to find the original color?
Vin number unfortunately does't show the color code, is there any other sticker showing the factory color?

Under the rear bonnet there is a factory color sticker but that can be changed. Pull the ashtray out and see what color is over sprayed under the tunnel.

    PS. Carfax often has mistakes....

Saw a car that I liked in one color. Engine was out for service. Looked underneath and it was a very different color. Paint tag was also for the old color.

Does the Carpet match the drapes - so to speak...

honestly if you question the cars original cover behind the dash is a good place to check, No one will ever repaint one of these that far, Overspray will be all over the fire wall or under the carpet.

Usually inside the doors take off the door panel and you'll usually find original paint in there.

Both states I've registered cars in the DMV forms have areas to denote color of the vehicle. It can be up to the new owner to fill that in and or up to the DMV clerk to be motivated enough to note it. IIRC, one of the car faxes on one of my cars has that in it and I have zero reason to believe the color has ever been changed.

I wouldn't jump right to the assumption that the color has been changed because of that wording, but no reason not to investigate it fully either.

Dave said under the ash tray easy to check there for sure, no one would repaint that.
People screw up titles all the time and fat finger things even typing incorrect vins with a O instead of an 0 there is a difference on titles and carfax Is a ****ing joke. I have parted out two cars that still showed clear car faxes.
