Nice car Ben! Toffe bak ;) especially with the manual gearbox!
Sorry buddy, missed your post. But yes, you are on the money. I really like that colour after I got used to it
My father's favorite toy : it's a '79 400 Automatic. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you ! The color is Blu Metal Ribot, it's very special : really dark in the garage, but when the weather is shiny, it becomes nearly "azzurro california". The paint has been remade a few years before my father bought it, so maybe ten years ago.
There has been discussion on the way these cars don't look as good in pictures as they do in person. Also, there is the sleekness that is not apparent until they are seen next to other cars. Here are some photos of our summer trip, and specifically the Alaska Marine Highway portion. It is a little nerve racking the way the cars are packed on the boat. The last picture is walking to the ferry terminal at 0430. We stayed in a VRBO rental that was about one mile from the terminal. Since it wasn't raining we decided to "hoof it"! Harald Those are great photos, particularly the first one. Are you in Europe? Good luck with your new 400! Aidan
i love these cars in red...especially when it's over tan hides. colour sensitive shape, my a$$...is there a Ferrari that looks as good in as many colours ? it goes without saying that there are prettier Ferrari's, i think we can all agree on that...but these beauties do look so good in so many colour combinations, don't they ? nice car dude...
Harald, great pics. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on the new edition. I especially like your choice of driving shoes--no chance of getting caught up in the pedals with those. Enjoy!
Thanks for nice comments. Yes, pictures are from Norway. Car looks surprisingly good in Rosso Corsa in real life -not so good on pictures I think. Will post better pictures when weather permits -winter time here now! Original color was "Bruno Acajou" -anyone who knows what that color looks like ? Is it the same as "106-M-27 Nocciola Metallizzato" ? Anyone having pictures of the color ? Harald
Here you go : Bruno Acajou (this 400 was owned by Freddie Heineken) and the Daytona in the amazing Nocciola Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Wow just stunning!! I agree with Brett- they look pretty damned fine in any color... But don't kill me Marrone guys- I hate any brown car...just a pet peeve of mine... The shape of these cars really demands a FLAWLESS body- those elegant creases don't work when you have dings and dents... I saw soooo many "excellent condition" cars with a number of minor dings along that lovely beltline crease- deal breaker for me...I guess I'm going to be one of those guys who parks his Ferrari at the VERY far end of the parking lot! So far for me the car looks almost perfectly proportioned in the dark blue metallics and darker silvers- I have the Argento Nurburgring 412 arriving any minute... here's a picture of it in LA when I bought it... the lack of USA side markers really preserves the Pininfarina lines. Harald.. looks like your car was a french delivery car with the yellow headlights.. I really like that look and was going to replace mine also with a set of yellow Cibies this year. Jay,, looks stunning and flawless.. Regards, Robert
I can't wait till the weather finally warm's up.. i'm getting desperate !!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Jay...We have a silver 412 down here in South Western CT. I fully agree that these cars, particularly those in lighter colors, need to be pristine...I had ours gone over by a "Ding Magician" who did a lovely job... the sides look very much like yours...it would be fun to have parked side-by-side some time..enjoy your new toy they are a fun machine... Marc
Marc- Yeah the lines of this car in the metallics is just gorgeous- My white 400i looks so different- it looks longer in White and the lighter color makes the wheels and tires appear bigger- weird.. Another Ct brother- OK..The list is growing!! For whatever reason there seem to be an awful lot of 400/412 in the Northeast. We need to plan our big get together - LOVE to see a dozen or more of these babies side by side!!
