I have a Will, power of attorney, physician directive (or whatever it's called to unplug me if I'm a vegtable) all set up, but it was done in KS.

Should I have a lawyer in Texas review it (me and wife) and if so, can someone recommend a good one in Houston who can do this for me.

    Thanks

You will definitely need an attorney to review these documents. Texas is a community property state, so the will may need some revision (I am not familiar with KS estate law). As for the PoA and the Advanced Directive, Texas law creates a statutory form for those documents. If your current PoA and AD closely match the Texas statutory form, you should be in decent shape on those. However, it is still wise to consult with an attorney.

The template for a Will and POA is pretty standard stuff......

Unless, like me, you have children outside of marriage to provide for, ex-wives to cut out..unmarried girlfriends....stuff like that require predetermined Special Instructions, that allow your Executor to reroute funds and material assests outside of the Probate..handy!

    What does it matter?

    We'll be dead! LOL!

My sister's husband did all my stuff.....

We're in the process of getting all our stuff re-done (wills, trusts, guardian, HIPPA, power of attorney, physycians directives, etc.). Smart planning if you have a family. We have a great attorney in Dallas who specializes in this stuff if anyone is interested.
