It turns out Hou is a great town for enjoying driving….

I just got back from a quick trip to my office at 4am…. 15 min each way at speed..

I forgot something there last night.

All of those days crawling over a sweeper or cloverleaf in traffic…. I envisaged eating up the turns hitting the apex late braking a slight push.. the exit on the outside… I did all that.

such a great driving town at 4am

It’s like a video game when it’s empty. I used to have to drop off my ex-girlfriend in the far reaches of Katy, so by the time I got back to MIdtown it was really late. Back then I had my manual Cayman S with exhaust, and I loved cruising into town either around the downtown or galleria area on the elevated freeway while surrounded by skyscrapers!

Back then I also used to commute against traffic. I’d drive midtown to Beltway 8 via the toll. Just a straight shot of empty freeway at those hours of the morning.

Totally agree, great city for driving during non-peak hours. Although I’d still take these Kentucky country back roads over them given the choice to pick only one of the two.

Would disagree....the only people out then are criminals and victims.

Houston is a horrible supercar driving city.

Well I’m not suggesting anyone move here for the driving experience.

coming from south Tx hill country I was spoiled w the access to county rolling roads!!!!

Houston is terrible…. However if one is desperate enough you can get out before 5am and blast to from the office for somewhat of a fun drive…. You have to use your imagination and lower your standards.

I lived in the Houston area from the very early 80’s to early 90’s when I moved to the DFW metroplex. I always said for a major city Houston was easy to navigate and that was before Yahoo maps. Dallas on the other hand is a cluster ****. I joke with my Dallas friends that nothing good happens eat of 183.
