Has anybody had any experience (positive and negative) with hotel valet parking his/her Ferrari in NYC? I have called up the usual 5 star suspects (Four Seasons, St. Regis, The Plaza, etc) and they all said they knew how to operate Ferraris (I specifically asked if they know how to move a 458) and handled them on a regular basis for hotel guests. I want to grab dinner at a hotel and not worry about the car-I just want to drop it off and enjoy dinner.

I too had a good experience at the Mandarin Hotel. Entrance is on a side street off Columbus Circle. Ate many times at Mandarin's Asiate restaurant - amazing view of Central Park if you can get a table near the window and dine before sunset. Garage is under the hotel and secure, but it always comes down to the attendant and how careful he/she is. Enjoy!

Stayed at both Ritz-Carltons, asked ahead of time. They seemed indifferent at Central Park, would not bring it to either.

Ate dinner at Per Se and drove the 612....valet at the Man. Oriental could not have been nicer....I gave him $20 and said would you mind leaving the car out front...He said "not a problem sir", and I came out and there was the car, right in the middle of the pack safe and sound. I then said where do I pay for parking, and he said dont worry about it, you already paid, "wink, wink"...so I gave him another $20 and the best $40 I have spent to know the car was safe the entire night

Thanks to everyone who responded so far. Sounds like Mandarin Oriental is the go. I have been to Asiate-very nice not to mention that lobby lounge bar is simply ridiculous. So did you mean that even though you were not staying at the Mandarin Oriental and wasn't dining there they were ok with you leaving your car there? There is no parking at Time Warner building (I thought Per Se had valet parking)?

I think Four Seasons and St. Regis are happy to take care of Ferraris but they park it outside and as sct4a mentioned those streets are very busy. Robuchon gone anyway but I do like Adour and the King Cole Bar o yes.

Per Se doesnt have valet you have to use mandarin orential's. Thats where I was going all the times I used them. I'd park at MO for per se, jean george across the street, MASA / MASA bar, and asiate upstairs. They never asked me if I was a guest of the hotel, I think I told them I was going up to per se and would be 4-5 hours just so they had a heads up of when I'd be returning.

Speaking of, MASA Bar is pretty nice for dinner upstairs and then you can go across the walkway to per se for desert and drinks in the salon.

And you still saved money compared to leaving it in the typical parking garage in NYC for that amount of time!
