Does anyone know who is the manufacturer of the hose clamps that are used on the 812, I need to replace a leaking radiator hose and would like to put the same type clamp back.

You can buy the clamps but I need to know who makes them to buy the tool for them.

Yes I found those tools as well, looks like those tools are meant to be used during car assembly in a factory.

So far I have not been able to find a manual tool, other than the one for disassembly of the clamp.

I’ve gone down this road recently in hopes of trying to keep my car all original but still be able to do my own maintenance.

I found a local distributor that can get me the tool from Caillau in France (TV 400) for about $2500 and a 4-week lead time. It’s the pneumatic gun. Although the site and other documents state there are electric and manual versions of the tool, when the distributor inquired, Caillau said there are no other tools, pneumatic only.

$2500 seems steep for a zip tie gun on steroids. Also concerned it will arrive and still need more “parts” to work properly and I’ll have to keep buying components until I get it worked out.

But part of me is considering it. Wonder if I could rent it out to other Italian car DIY’ers for a fair price and amortize the cost that way over time, but not sure there’s enough interest.

    1. So I found a used TV400 in France on eBay for a few hundred dollars vs. a couple thousand new. Also found a translated to English user manual (free pdf) with a great illustrated parts breakdown diagram and part numbers should the tool ever fail/need service.

    2. Ordered a bag of clamps from Eurospares for under $10, shipped free with a much larger order.

    3. Made an experimental/sacrificial test rig using an old sink drain tail piece and the simplest hose I could find to fit at Autozone.

    4. Set compressor to 82 psig, pulled the trigger following simple instructions until the pip popped. Popped on second pull (suspect plastic tail piece flexed more than an aluminum pipe would).

    5. I can now service my coolant lines and reinstall factory collars (clamps) to keep the factory look.

No one other than you will look at your radiator hoses and see its factory look :)

Correct. The occasional dealer visit and a future owner maybe, but more for me than anything else.

Funny, I would notice. :) I went through quite an ordeal to restore the vapor breather tube assembly to my F12 battery thermal blanket and not even the service department could tell it is there.
