Have you guys seen this thing? Essentially, a MotoGP bike for the street. And it's only US$184,000!!! RC213V-S | Honda Reading the specs, it only has 101bhp, with a curb weight of 418lbs. If they are saying this is a street-legal MotoGP bike, I wonder why the bhp rating is so low. Heck, my FZ-1 has 150bhp, and weighs about the same. What I've read elsewhere: "In stock form, the stateside RC213V-S will only produce 101 horsepower – no joke. This is due to a rev-limiter of 9,400 rpm; the close-circuit kit that the Europeans get provides the sought-after 14,000 rev and over 200 horsepower."
This is a really odd idea coming from usually sensible honda. I love the idea, but the price is just ridiculous. Almost any sportbike has too much performance for the street, and even on the track most folks run out of talent on a 10k 600cc supersport before they run out of bike. So this seems destined for some rare collections, but it would be fun to take one up to 14k rpm, at least once. Sadly, I'll never get that chance.
