thinking on it...why 10-round mag? Are the larger round mag obtainable these days? (how many rounds are the "larger" factory mags)
In Europe the 10 round magazines are often standard with the civilian sales. The 30rd Hk steel magazines are mil-spec. The 30rd Hk steel magazines are plentiful and are priced accordingly. POF also produces a steel 30rd magazine that has good reviews. The POF magazine is about 1/2 the price. MP5 30rd 9mm Magazine, AC-Unity, Made in Bosnia Europe, SP5, SP5K, MP5K, HK94, PTR 9C, 9x19mm, ACU-08, RTG Parts (robertrtg.com) Robert ^^ has all kinds of accessories. Sooo tempted...need to hide the wallet! Had to settle years ago for a clone because I couldn't find a real HK. Growing up it was Chevys and Glocks. Now it's Ferraris and HK's. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So long as it has the requisite 16 inch barrel and no auto select--Class III needed if not, which I do not have.
8.86" barrel. Those in Ghostdiver's pic are C3 in one way or another, but he isn't the seller - ralfabco is.
Kurt has provided the correct dimension for the original mil-spec barrel. You can add to the Hk SP5 an over-the-counter slip-on stock which attaches to the receiver. Just remove the rear pin and the end cap. Simply re-attach the pin to the slip-on stock and receiver and the SP5 will remain type classified, as a pistol. The entire process can be done in less than a minute. With a slip-on-stock paperwork is not required to be filed with the alphabet folks. The receiving dealer can also confirm this information. *( FYI ) the stock picture shows the SP5 with a 30rd magazine. The SP5 pistol is being offered with a factory 10rd Hk magazine. 30rd Hk magazines are readily available.
ATF doesn't consider the install of the stock to be an SBR? I know they do with a Glock, Vector, etc, thus the proliferation of "braces".
A rifle stock immediately turns this pistol into an SBR. The slip on stock (braces) are good to go. The slip on stock was approved as an accessory to help disabled vets use the pistol. I believe slip on stock and a brace are the same item.
I never even thought about a brace for the SP5/SP5K - I still have fond memories of the folder for my MP5K with the papered giggle-switch. HKPro appears to have a couple of variations to choose from. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just to throw this out there to quite the whispers in the wings, both of the guns in my picture are registered NFA items. I hold a 07/02 FFL and operate ARES Arms under it.
