I have an INNOVA 3100 scan tool and the only thing it will do on my 99 355 is retrieve malfunction codes and clear them. It's supposed to be able to read ecu data live from the car while it's running, however it can only establish a link with the car when the key is in the acc position and is unable to link with the car once started. Anyone have experience with this scanner and Ferrari? "Edit" Maybe I'm wrong after reading the scanner manual I can't find anything about viewing live ecu data.
After doing a little internet reading it seems as though the Innova 3100 is only good for retrieving and erasing codes. I guess for the money I spent it was worth it. I wish I would have gotten a scanner that could read live data.
I had the same issue with Innova. It does not work in real time. I bought a cheapy USB software that reads the data quite well on the fly.
Grab yourself a cheapy bluetooth OBD reader and grab the app "torque" It does quite a lot. I use it for logging of all kinds.
Is there a special bluetooth OBD reader I need or would this work? http://www.buyandfun.com/en-usd/bluetooth-obd-2-obdii-mini-diagnostic-interface-scanner-p9240.html I've been reading that not all cars provide support for all parameters. What kind of data does the 355 ecu let you monitor?
You can buy a OBDII scanner that works with a laptop for $12 on Ebay. Search for "ELM 327". It will come with some freeware, but there are other freeware available as well that will work and offer more capabilities. This is the one I have been using for the past 7 or so years: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELM327-V1-5-OBDII-OBD2-CAN-BUS-USB-Auto-Diagnostic-Interface-Scanner-/150802253413?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item231c83c665 Read pending and set codes, and clears them. Can display live sensor data too with the freeware included. Other freeware available online can allow for freeze frame, graphing, etc.
