Sorry, I know there are a lot these types of posts on the forum. I did my best to search for the answer as well as review the workshop manual without finding a definitive answer. I hope my friends here can lend a helping hand.

Question #1: 355 Rear axle shaft nut torque. No mention of it in the WSM torque specifications. I found one post from Ernie that mentioned 250 Nm (184 ft/lb) for this nut, however, it wasn't clear to me if this was specific to the 348. According to Ricambi the 355 rear axle nut (part# 209184) crosses to the 348 so I presume it carries the same diameter/thread pitch and perhaps the same torque spec?

Question #2: In the WSM there are two different torque spec listings for the bolt connecting the axle shaft to the differential shaft. The first listing states 78 Nm (57.5 ft/lb) while the second listing states 95 Nm (70 ft/lb). The same thread pitch for the fastener (10 x 1.25) is listed for both (see attached screen shot of WSM). Anyone know which is the proper torque setting?

    Many thanks for the help

    Axle nut: 275 NM

    Axle bolts: 78 NM

    Both require Molykote 1000

Get yourself the 360 WSM, much better than 355 and much of the same info applies.
