When the 612 OTO was introduced, I did not pay much attention because I did not realize how many mechanical changes had actually been made. I have a 2009 OTO owner's manual, but it appears to be actually misleading in some areas because most of it was just copied from the earlier 612 OMs. An example of this is stating the car still has a single plate, dry clutch assembly, when the OTO actually changed to the 599 dual plate clutch, so not sure how much the other data can be trusted. The engine data information and transmission information was copied directly from the earlier manuals, with one significant difference, the engine type, which is now F133H.

The F133 series of engines started with the 550 Maranello with the type F133A, the 575M Maranello with the F133E, the 612 Scaglietti with the F133F and the Superamerica with the F133G. The 575M and early 612s used essentially all the same mechanical components including crank, block except for casting number, heads, cams, valves, etc. Manifolding and ECUs were updated on the 612. When the Superamerica came along, its Type 133G engine had several changes including a decked block for higher 11.2:1 compression vs the 575M/612's 11.0:1, wider angle on the valve seats and resultant shorter valve stems, and the same spec camshaft, but advanced for a bit more power.

Since the engine on the OTO had sufficient changes to warrant a new engine type and I have seen references to an 11.2:1 compression ratio for the OTO, is it possible the OTO was given the Superamerica treatment for its engine?

We know the OTO was updated with the 599 F1A Superfast system and dual plate clutch, but was the transmission also changed out to the 599 transmission? The 599 transmission was considerably beefed up and also had the advantage of a low ratio Reverse gear, 2.93:1 vs the 612's 2.385, which would have eliminated the high clutch wear Reverse usually caused in earlier Ferraris, manual or F1 shifter.

The early 612 used Motronic 7.1.1 ECUs to control the engine and other functions, similar to the 575s, which used the same architecture. Was the OTO's Motronic updated?

So here are the documented OTO mechanical and electronic changes and the ones I would like to understand better with a question mark.

    Engine Type: F133H
    Compression Ratio: 11.2:1?
    F1 system: F1A Superfast
    Transmission: 612 or 599?
    Clutch: 599 Dual Plate
Suspension and Shift Speed Selection: Manettino
    Brakes: CCM Standard
    Motronic ECU: 7.1.1 or updated?

If anybody can help, owner or professional with some tech data, I would appreciate it.

I was told by one of the senior techs from FNA that the 612 OTO gearbox is "based" on the 599.. it is not the exact gearbox, as the 599 has slightly different internals to take the abuse from the higher HP and torque.

RB- Thanks. With these new cars, most under warranty, seems most owners are not too into technical details on their Ferraris.
