Hello, I am going to go to Italy for my first time. I want to coordinate the trip with the F1 race at Monza. Is there any of the tour companies that you all would recommend to use for the race part and then an extended trip afterwards? Yes my wife will be coming too so I need to make it interesting for her too Your opinion s would be greatly appreciated. Vic [email protected]
You can do Monza on your own by staying in Milano and taking the train to Monza (which is a suburb of Milano). You don't really need a tour operator for that. Just order your tickets at www.formula1.com. Get a rental car and check out Northern Italy on your own: Torino, Pisa, Florence, Venice, Maranello. It's all there and there are lots of good highways connecting it all. You could try to align your trip with e.g. Brendan/Globus tours. You really don't need a GP tours organizer for this race as it is pretty much straight forward. Last time I did Monza we actually booked a guided tour by "Medcines sans frontieres": It was a lovely tour starting in the French Alps, then going into Switzerland, then Italy and ending at Lago Maggiore. It was aligned perfectly for me to get a rental car and head over to the Monza GP while the tour was visiting someplace else for the day. PS: I'm going to Monza as well this year. Staying in Monza, taking the train.
Thank you to all who have responded. You have sent some great information which will be very useful. Let's hope for a Ferrari win this year
