    Can someone please post photos of wheels with the chrome-painted factory option. A side-by-side with a standard painted wheel would be great, too.

    From photos of cars for sale it seems this "chrome" option is not chrome in the traditional way we think about aftermarket or typical chrome wheels. I am guessing the Ferrari chrome painted wheel is a polished or "glossy" look, as Ferrari calls it. Can folks please comment?

    The finish on the “chrome” option is paint not a polished finish. It was only offered on the std. wheel on the 458. It is a 2500.00 option and a waste of money IMHO.

    Thank you. Not sure what you meant by “only offered” - can you clarify? The option is available now as an option on all the cars. The order guide calls it “chrome painted” and the configurator calls it “glossy brilliant.”

    The chrome paint option was only offered on the std. wheel. You either got the std. wheel which was silver(cast AL) or you could spend 2500.00 and have them painted in the “chrome”finish. The other wheel options were forged aluminum either silver or diamond finish or a dark gray finish. None of the optional wheels had an up charge for color change it was already calculated in the option price. I am getting this info from Ferraris Modis option list

    also just a note, I am referring only to the 458 Ferrari my have changed that for the later cars.

    Ferraris do not belong sitting on chrome, or polished aluminum, its that simple.I also want to say that aftermarket wheels do not look nearly as good as the factory Ferrari wheels, and I mean all Ferraris .
